Wealthy House Painter tip #6
By Terry | March 11, 2010
When I started out I probably came across as somewhat cocky. I intentionally puffed up my ego a bit to build up my reputation in the area. I told everyone who would listen I was the best painter around. Don’t be afraid to toot your own horn a bit and say that about your business and your work. It will make a big difference in the number of painting jobs you get to bid and get paid on. By the way, it didn’t matter to me whether my “best painter” statements were true or not, only that I believed them.
After all, no one was going around my area making a scientific study of who the best painter was. Chances are there’s no one in your area doing a study either. So go ahead and say you’re the best and practice the future. You’ll rise to the occasion and become the best if you’re a person of integrity. Besides, I discovered if you tell enough people you’re the best, you truly believe it and you do a great job people will start believing you and paying your price. It worked for me!
