Wealthy House Painter tip #14
By Terry | March 27, 2010
Here’s why taking the time to write out a written proposal is so important:
- People tend to put more faith in things that are in writing more than the spoken word alone. Your word may be your bond – but if it’s in writing more people will trust you right up front.
- A well-written proposal instills confidence in the homeowner that your company is well-organized and experienced. It says, “I know what I’m doing and I’ll back it up in writing.” It also shows them respect. After all if they are going to pay you a couple thousand dollars to have their home painted don’t they deserve to have it in detail and in writing?
- A well-written proposal also shows your customers that as a business owner, you utilize “a proven system” that pays close attention to every detail. People like systems and see business owners who use systems rather than doing things willy-nilly as being more professional and more worthy of getting the job and commanding a higher dollar value every time you take on a painting job.
